Accessing CHIL on Mobile
Good news — you don’t need to wait for a native app. CHIL works on your phone right now in two ways:
Option 1: Mobile Browser (Recommended)
- Open your browser and go to community.chil.network
- Log in as you normally would
- The site is fully responsive and works well on any modern mobile browser
For the best experience, save it to your home screen:
• iPhone: Tap the Share button → “Add to Home Screen”
• Android: Tap the three-dot menu → “Add to Home Screen”
This gives you a home screen icon that opens CHIL like an app.
Option 2: Discourse Hub
Discourse Hub is the official mobile app that can host multiple Discourse communities in one place. - Download Discourse Hub from the App Store or Google Play (it’s free)
- Open the app and tap the + button
- Enter community.chil.network and tap Add
- Log in with your CHIL credentials
Heads up: Push notifications through Discourse Hub are limited for self-hosted communities like ours — you may get delayed badge notifications rather than real-time alerts. For now, mobile web is the more reliable experience.
A native CHIL app is on the roadmap. In the meantime, either of these options gets you in.
